I certainly love to paint on canvas. You go to the craft store, pick out the size you need, and go home to paint. It beats the old days of having to build the frame, stretch the canvas, gesso, etc. The ease of this is the allure, I think. My art below is all on canvas. I love to put art on things and if I have my choice, I pick objects over canvas. Canvas is great but, there’s something about painting on a hood, a table, a mannequin, etc. that makes art more unique. When a piece is tied to an object, the statement is more profound. Custom painted clothes are probably not as popular as they once were but, they are still a hit with me. Something about rocking a hand painted denim jacket takes someone’s personal coolness factor to another level. Not to mention, you are wearing the only piece of clothing like that in the world.
