Exploring the Quirky Santa Claus vs. The Devil

I’m not going to really hit the plot any more than necessary on this one as usual. Let me sum it up though quite simply. Imagine if you will a Road Runner cartoon from the old Looney Tunes mashed up with Sci-fi from the 1950’s and then put a heavy layer of frosting on top. Frosting in this case being a very interesting Christmas story. Oh yeah, take a cherry and put it on top in the character Merlin. Yes, the wizard from the King Arthur stories. Take a healthy bite of that cake and we’ll keep moving along.

Bloodsport: The Greatest American Martial Arts Movie

My favorite thing about Bloodsport is that it features so many styles of martial arts. In Chan’s movies, it was the “insert style” of Kungfu against the “insert style” of Kungfu. Norris was Karate vs Karate for the most part and Segal was Aikido against street fighting. Rothrock was always high-flying fancy kicking vs street fighting karate ESC stuff and Speakman was Kenpo vs street fighters and another karate fighter. Bloodsport dove into the spectrum of the arts and put them on display. While you don’t really see a lot of them in depth (everything just turns into Karate ultimately), you do see them represented. There is a very distinct Thai boxer named Paco, Monkey Kungfu, Sumo, several Kungfu fighters, street fighting, and Dux with ninjutsu (Taijutsu). Of course, anyone who knows anything about Taijutsu knows that Van Damme is certainly not using it.

The Fog – A Creepy and Haunting Tale of Ghostly Gold

Consistency is key they say. Doing the same thing repeatedly can produce great results. Of course, if it’s the wrong thing, then consistency can produce terrible things. In the case of John Carpenter, creepy tunes, and the cast of Halloween, consistency is certainly great and creates profound results. To my knowledge I have never seen The Fog but, I recently changed that and I’m glad. Got the date night with the wife now – popcorn and an awesome Halloween ESC movie!

Who Framed Roger Rabbit – Unlocking the Artistic Magic of this Creative Exploration

All creatives and people who just like oddball stuff should put Who Framed Roger Rabbit on their watch list. You really can’t go wrong watching this movie. It’s loads of fun and a huge dose of creativity. While it is irritating at times (I think on purpose), Who Framed Roger Rabbit includes many comical elements in it. For instance, I think it’s Roger who is flipping through some notecards and as he does it creates animation. I found this to be a noticeable and creative play by Disney. I will certainly watch this one again and recommend it to anyone. There are many projects coming from Invisible Katana Artwork inspired by this movie so, be on the lookout.
