I want to point out that I use the word “album” but, “La Sexorcisto” is an experience more than an album. I listened while driving at work and when “La Sexorcisto” was finished, I had to sit in the lobby for a few minutes to come down from the energy brought in by this 14-track horror movie sample stuffed hard rock experience. As far as sampling goes, I think this is what makes the White Zombie sound. Some films that the band pulled from were Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Plan 9 from Outer Space, and even High School Confidential. It would be like the Wu-Tang without Chinese Kung Fu movies sampled in the tracks. Fright Night has good energy, great actors, and a great story. I love low budget movies because you’re generally going to get B with one. Fright Night certainly had a large budget at 9 million dollars, according to an IMDB article. So, no B trash here. Speaking of casting, Amanda Bearse who played Marcie Rhoades from Married with Children was the lead female role in Fright Night. Also, Nick Savage who played Ali, one of the bikers in Friday the 13th Part III, was in this movie too. If you like American Werewolf In London, you will love Fright Night. If you’ve seen Conan the Barbarian and Excalibur, you have an idea. These two have met and had a child together. Put a Star Wars onesie on that child and you have Deathstalker. The plot is simple and is like any other movie of this type. Deathstalker is a warrior who travels the land helping damsels in distress. He meets a witch that gets him a magic sword and sends him on a quest for 2 other magic items possessed by a wizard. Our wizard is conveniently hosting a tournament to find the greatest warrior in the land. This winner will inherit the wizard’s kingdom. Little do the competitors know, the wizard wants to find the warrior to destroy any competition for his thrown. Naturally, Deathstalker enters the tournament and wins.
