The bride is one of the most seen, drawn, talked about, and admired classic characters but, she only has about 5 minutes of screen time in the film. I think this is the oddest part to me. I’ve done at least 3 pieces of art themed after this movie myself. For someone who is first watching this movie, this must be challenging to grasp. It was for me the first time I watched. As she is so popular, you expect that she is on screen for 90% or more of the movie, but only the last 5 minutes include this character. Ultimately, this movie is just an extension of the Frankenstein film from 1931.

I had watched The Toxic Avenger from 1984 years ago long before I had a blog. When a fellow I did some digital art for recently mentioned it, I knew I needed to rewatch this classic movie. I did just that and enjoyed The Toxic Avenger more the second time than I did the first time. This movie is great! It’s no wonder that it has a cult following. Michael Myers as we know him is officially dead after this film and, I like this. The only way that Michael Myers can return as himself is a throwback film or a sci fi film. He’s been burned, shot, stabbed, whatever and still comes back. When you run a person through a grinder at a junkyard, only science fiction can bring them back. Something like this or an explosion of some sort was the only way that he could be destroyed. This part they did right. But what about Laurie?

I’m odd in a lot of ways but certainly when it comes to music. There are groups sometimes that I just feel like I should be a listener of. Yeah Yeah Yeahs is one of these groups. I don’t recall how I originally came across them, but their name has been with me for a while. I think it was the name that sounded cool to me originally and got me interested. I recently had a classmate mention them in a post and it rekindled my curiosity. When they dropped a new album on Apple this month, I hit play on this 8 song experience. Let’s talk about the Yeah Yeah Yeahs album “Cool It Down” for a few minutes.
