Menace II Society – A Frightening Look into LA Gang Life

While I attended Psych school at Clemson University, I learned the idea of nature vs nurture. I personally think that much of this is true. We are born with certain genetics and some of us may have a predisposition to certain habits and lifestyles. When you mix this with an environment that feeds them, you often see a pattern occur. How many people are in prison today because of this? Even worse, how many people are dead today because of this? Menace II Society paints this cycle very well. It is even narrated by the main character, Caine, which helps to drive this point home. Hobo with a Shotgun – Criminal after Criminal Decimated by a Hobo’s Shotgun Loaded with 12 Gauge Rage

I don’t know that “fun” is the right word to describe this movie but, if you like odd stuff, Hobo With a Shotgun is great. As one might expect, it is ultra-violent. Shotgun blast after shotgun blast rids the city of crime one criminal at a time through the end of the film. Regardless of the number of criminals the vigilante disposes of, he never loads or purchases more shells. Considering that he cleans the town up, this adds an unrealistic comical flavor to the movie that takes the edge off. As scumbag after scumbag meets his 12 gauge and girls dance in the blood spray of decapitated citizens who owe the city boss money, we draw close to an unhappy ending. Because heads up, there is not a happy ending for our hobo with a shotgun.

Machete Weilds Wild Action, Mexican Culture, & Fantastic Story

As almost to be expected, Machete includes over-the-top action. It’s almost half that of The Expendables. Nothing will ever compare action-wise to The Expendables but, Machete tries. As an example, a motorcycle jump sends the bike complete with Machete through the air. The bike has a functioning Gatlin gun mounted on the front bars. This wouldn’t be complete without the gun laying waste to a crowd of people and a huge fiery explosion as the backdrop. Action is almost comic book style at some points. Lindsey Lohan arrives driving a hearse, dressed as a nun, and brandishing a 6” barrel .44 pistol. I’m not a gun expert but that’s what I think the weapon is. Right or wrong, it is a high-caliber revolver with a very long barrel. Nurses arrive in an ambulance and get out with silenced machine guns around the same time.
