Man in racing clothes towers over female in white jump suit with pictures of futuristic cars; Death Race 2000 official movie poster

Death Race 2000 – Crazy Cars, Big Names, Action-packed Road Trip

Plot is not something I tend to or like to focus on in my blogs, but we must in this case. The story is about a group of race drivers that work in 2-man (1 man, 1 woman) teams to drive across the country. Each team has a theme of sorts. Frankenstein was a lizard car, Joe was a gangster car, there was a Nazi-themed group, a western team, a Hun car, and a Roman-themed group. Where Death Race 2000 gets unique is that they can intentionally trick and harm one another. They also get points for various things as they drive. One of the team members is the driver and the other, typically the female, is the navigator. As expected, the driver drives, and the navigator plans the route. Wrap your dome around that and we’ll move one. Before we do though, I want to say that at the time I watched Death Race 2000, it was the most sci-fi thing I had seen in a while.

Microwave Massacre – Buy The Poster But DO NOT Watch The Movie

This will likely be one of the shortest blogs from me because there is so little to say. I mean, I can only say “I wasted and hours and a half of my life” so many ways. My hopes were high on this one. Going in, I had only seen the poster and a VHS copy of this movie. Based on the poster art and that feel you get, or people like me get anyway, from that black plastic case with the slide in art for the front, I expected this one to soon become a favorite. 1.5 hours later, I was questioning what better things I could have done with my time. There were some good things in Microwave Massacre though – discussion begins now.

Dirty Harry Great Story of a 44 and Look at Darkside of Police Work

Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry is a classic without a doubt. I recently watched this one all the way through. Cop movies are not necessarily my thing. I’ve seen pieces of this movie but never watched all of it. I’m glad I watched Dirty Harry because it had so much to offer beyond the “feeling lucky” scene(s). I like to use this line a lot because I think it speaks to absolute truth, which I believe in. You either like Dirty Harry or you’re wrong. This doesn’t mean you must be a super fan, have a poster, watch weekly, and be able to quote every line. It just means that you need to respect the movie as a classic piece of film, which I do. Dirty Harry is a movie I like and respect. There are plenty of reasons why too. Let me get the dialog started on this one from 1971.

Star Wars Meets Conan in The Warrior and the Sorceress

Picture this. You are a guy like me into these crazy B movies and you’re at a friend’s house who’s huge into eBay. He has found a couple of VHS tapes. The cover of one tape featured David Carradine as a barbarian. This DVD has the old Conan the Barbarian style art on it but Carradine in the place of Arnold. You know it – I had to find and watch The Warrior and The Sorceress. Let’s talk about this find.
